What did you do this past week?

This past week, I did more tasks on the front end such as handling sorting and searching on the model pages, highlighting, and addressing comments from the second phase. I did an assignment for my Neural Networks class. Other than that, I did not have any major assignments or exams in my remaining courses.

What’s in your way?

There is not a lot of things in my way. Thanksgiving break is coming up, so I am really looking forward to it. I may get a little lazy knowing that it is so close by, but I will power through all my work first.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will finish up any remaining tasks on the front end for phase 3. I have a couple assignments in my other classes, but I do not have anything major to work on. Once I finish my remaining assignments, I will probably just relax.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #12: More Getters and Setters?

I did read this paper, and I thought it was alright. I did feel like this only repeated some of the information from the previous getter and setter paper. It did not add too much additional information about this concept. I would have liked to seen information that expands upon the previous paper, rather than several examples of not using these methods.

What was your experience of cross join, theta join, natural join, and SQL? (this question will vary, week to week)

I do not have too much experience with SQL. These joins were pretty interesting to implement. It was not extremely convoluted either. I am not completely sure how beneficial these joins would be in large scale projects, however, it was still good to learn about. There is a lot of things in SQL that I am not sure of, so I am glad that Professor Downing is covering this material.

What made you happy this week?

I tried out a couple of restaurants that was recommended to me by my friends. I thought there were really good. I enjoy trying new foods, so I was glad that I was able to find another place to eat around Austin.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is https://sqlzoo.net/wiki/SQL_Tutorial. This is a website which has plenty of information about SQL. If you want to learn some SQL outside of class, this website would be very helpful.
